Lily Cade (@lily_cade) and Chelsea Poe (@ChelseaPoe666) (Internet)

Lily Cade is a “Gold Star Lesbian” porn performer who chooses not to shoot scenes with trans women.

lcLast night, Lily Cade was subjected to a barrage of tweets from trans activists and their allies (seemingly led by trans porn star, Chelsea Poe) demanding that she explain and justify her decision. Continue reading

#holidayhandup (Twitter)

Patti_Shaw#holidayhandup is a Twitter hashtag started by Voz, a misogynist who has trolled Women online for many years. Voz seems unaware of groups that do provide the services he speaks of, specifically This is HOW, run by another misogynist, Toni D’Orsay, and Casa Ruby, a well-regarded group in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Kortney Ziegler complained that the  #holidayhandup hashtag was started by a person (Voz) who has harassed and been racist towards transmen; however, his concerns were dismissed.

This is an example of how Twittersectionality works – for the benefit, as always, of Men.

Mavaddat Javid ‏and Madeleine Michaels are Men’s Rights Activists actively campaigning to force a shelter that provides service to Women brutalised by male violence to also provide services for males.  MRAs periodically target Vancouver Rape Relief because of the organizations unswerving dedication to Women. The most recent campaign of abuse came as VRR commemorated the murder of 14 women by an MRA who shouted anti-femist statements as he gunned them down.

#sharedgirlhood @smashesthep (Twitter)

Screen shot 2013-12-14 at 6.39.05 PM#sharedgirlhood is a Twitter hashtag started by the feminist blogger Smash the Patriarchy in May of 2013 in response to an article by the third wave feminist Mia McKenzie called The Myth of Shared Female Experience and How It Perpetuates Inequality, which posited that girls have no universal experiences and that shared girlhood is a myth. In Smash’s words:

Many of us object to the article’s claim that shared female experience is a myth or perpetuates inequality.

What is shared girlhood?

Shared girlhood is the idea that girls growing up under patriarchy are all oppressed based on their being treated as girls when they were younger.

For example, we’re told we exist to please men and be pretty, or we experience unwanted sexual harassment or contact, or we’re told to be small and eat less than boys.

There are obviously huge differences based on race, class, nationality, etc. But there is shared oppression based on sex.

When we grow up and become women, our experience as women is shaped by the way we were oppressed growing up.

Thus, growing up as girls is an important part of being a woman.

The journalist Victoria Brownworth began tweeting on the tag on or about December 12, thus causing a new round of consternation from Men who believe they are Women. Men who believe they are Women necessarily need all to deny that there are common experiences of being socialised female, for if we start recognising these common experiences, you will also notice that Transwomen are socialised as boys and are male. The blogger at Culturally Bound Gender also has an excellent analysis of shared girlhood.

Interestingly, the homophobic blogger Chiller, of #misshapenarm fame, also tweeted on the hashtag, probably not realising how utterly “transphobic” it is for girls to know we are female.

#dearcisfeminism (Twitter)

2#dearcisfeminism  is a Twitter hashtag created by Wesley Bailey, a violent porn sick man in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area who thinks he’s a woman. He apparently created the tag because it upsets him that Cathy Brennan, a lesbian feminist, knows he is male.  He continually threatens to “collect” Brennan for knowing this. These types of hashtags are created for the sole purpose of silencing Women and preventing them from critiquing gender identity as a concept. Similar hashtags have been used by other, equally violent, men, as described here and here.

Zoe Stavri @stavvers @Independent (UK)

zoe-stavri-stavversZoe Stavri is a Men’s Rights Activist who writes for The Independent. She regularly denigrates Feminist Women on her Twitter feed, especially Lesbians who know Transwomen are Men. The zeal with which she debases herself for Men knows no bounds, as this Tweet against Bank Notes campaigner Caroline Criado-Perez highlights.

We condemn such speech against another Woman. We would also condemn such speech used against Zoe Stavri, no matter how many abusive statements she makes against Lesbians. Sexually abusive language is used by anti-feminist transgender activists and MRAs to get Women to stop speaking, as most Women do not wish to engage in a conversation in which they are sexually abused.

The Block Bot and Doug McDonald (USA)

The Block Bot is an online tool developed by Men’s Rights Activists to harass feminists on social media. One of the administrators of the Block Bot is Doug McDonald, a man who regularly harasses Women on social media and who also uses his social media account to profess his approval of child sexual exploitation.

Doug believes that stereotypes of how a Woman speaks make him a Woman. In this video, he speaks “like a Man.”

In this video, he speaks “like a Woman,” as envisioned by a porn sick Man who believes age of consent laws should be lowered.

Doug is typical of many Men who have embraced transgenderism and “gender queerness” as a way to distinguish themselves from other Men.
