Michelle Lynne Kosilek, a 68-year-old man that identifies as a woman, recently filed suit against the Massachusetts Correction Commissioner to receive taxpayer-funded sex-reassignment surgery and transfer to the MCI-Framingham women’s prison.
Previously known as Robert Kosilek, he was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of his wife.
This latest lawsuit by Kosilek arrives at a perfect time in the court of public opinion as well, because on election day Massachusetts voters will decide whether to repeal an update to the state’s non-discrimination law. The update barred discrimination against transgender people in public accommodations such as bathrooms.
Kosilek is the poster-child for why the state’s residents should in fact vote to overturn the law and protect women.
