Tahlia René is a man who identifies as a transgender woman. He was recently banned from Tinder for “violating our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines in some way.” Although Tinder declined to state precisely how René had violated the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, René surmises he was banned “because of men mass reporting me for being trans.”
René fails to understand that heterosexual men aren’t interested in dating other men (including men who identify as women) and are well within their rights to report other Tinder users who they believe to be in violation of the Terms of Service. Further, Tinder encourages users to “report all bad behavior,” which may reasonably include reporting users who are misrepresenting themselves in some way (like claiming to be women when they are not women, for example).
