San Francisco County Jail Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi has decided to completely disregard the rights of incarcerated Women by adopting a policy that allows Men who identify as Women, like Paul Daniel Raynal, to be housed with Women. Mirkarimi’s plan will allow pre-operative transgender inmates permanently into new populations. “Some will still have their penis,” Mirkarimi said, to make it clear what the new classification will immediately mean. This violates international standards regarding the treatment of prisoners.

The anti-lesbian National Center for Lesbian Rights advocated for this travesty.

  1. Will men convicted of rape and violence against women be allowed to identify as “women” and also be housed with women prisoners? This is just awful.

  2. Yes it is. And it in part derives from the “liberal” attitude, not of equality, but of ‘let’s not make any rules about the weird people’. Where transsexuals are weird people, gay people are weird people, women in prison are weird people. So just throw them all in together. If gay people really were perceived as just part of human variation then transsexual fetishists would be accurately perceived as a subculture like the pierced tongue people and ‘otherkins’.

Of course it also derives from the fact that so many men can’t think about rape for more than a nano second without their minds wandering.
