A settlement was reached in a discrimination case where a transgender man claimed he was wrongfully fired by AT&T. Matthew Hileman‘s attorney, Justin Nichols, could not go into details of the settlement but said the case was closed at the “satisfaction of all parties.” Hileman filed a claim under the city’s non-discrimination ordinance January 2014. Nichols said while Hileman was working for AT&T, he overheard employees say they would use violence against anyone transgender. Nichols said co-workers found out Hileman was a transgender man and one day, Hileman found an offensive symbol directed to homosexuals on his chair at work. He said Hileman’s complaints to supervisors were dismissed and he was fired.
