A Central High School, Arkansas student who is a transgender person says his bathroom accommodations and discrimination caused him to drop out of school last month. Jette Espinosa, 18, was born a female, but identifies as a man. Espinosa says he experienced issues with the restroom. At first, he says he used the boys bathroom, then a student raised concerns about it. Espinosa says he was given the option to use the women’s restroom or one other bathroom. Espinosa also says some teachers would not refer to him as a boy. He also says he wasn’t allowed to try out for male sports.
