Hana Shafi is a reporter for the Ryersonian. She has written this article on online harassment in which she quotes Sophia “Daryl” Banks, a Man who identifies as a Woman. Banks, of course, is well-known for harassing Women, particularly Lesbians, on social media and threatening to sue them. He also regularly uses his platform to incite other people to harass Women online who reject his pro-gender, pro-porn and pro-sexual exploitation of Women agenda.
In 2014, it is common for journalists to rely on Men like Banks without doing any actual reporting. Using Banks as a source for an article about online harassment is equivalent to using Todd Akin as a source for an article about sexual assault.
