Westerly Public Schools (USA)

Westerly Public Schools (Rhode Island) is considering a ban on discrimination against transgender students, allowing them to use bathrooms and locker rooms of the gender with which they identify. The School Committee is considering a policy to reduce stigmatization of transgender and nonconforming students.

Superintendent Roy Seitsinger Jr. said the district is interested in doing what is correct to protect children. He says districts have received guidance from the Rhode Island Department of Education and Commissioner Deborah Gist on bullying and facilities for transgender students. The Westerly Public Schools’ proposed policy would not allow schools to require students to use sex-segregated facilities inconsistent with their gender identity.

  1. “Superintendent Roy Seitsinger Jr. said the district is interested in doing what is correct to protect children.”

First of all, they are NOT interested in protecting children. What they mean is they are only interested in pandering to a small minority of students at the expense of approximately half the student body which would be female. Second, no one really has a precise definition of “gender identity” other than how a person self-identifies at any particular point in time. People can change their “gender identity” at any time. Third, a male’s “gender identity” is not more important than the Constitutional right to privacy and basic human dignity of female students. Fourth, a female student’s emotional trauma and embarrassement from having to share a restroom or locker room with a male is just as important as “gender identity”. Fifth, we have already seen examples of “gender identity” laws violating the privacy rights of girls and women, and placing women at risk of physical and emotional harm (Colleen Francis, Christopher, “Jessica”, Hambrook). It’s just a matter of time before another Colleen Francis or Christopher, “Jessica”, Hambrook occurs. When it does, I hope the school district is sued for EVERYTHING it has.

It’s time for the parents of female students to start sueing school districts and states.

  2. “He says districts have received guidance from the Rhode Island Department of Education and Commissioner Deborah Gist on bullying and facilities for transgender students.”

What does “facilities” mean? This is where the line has to be drawn, and the vast majority of parents do NOT want males sharing a restroom with females. If he still has his penis, he needs to stay OUT of the girl’s restroom and locker room. Period. It’s time to draw a line in the sand and say, “You can’t go any further than this”. Parents need to raise holy hell!

No one has a problem with addressing bullying of students. No student should be bullied or teased. In fact, many states already have legal remedies and mechanisms in place to address teasing and bullying. This is not the problem. It’s male access to sex segregated facilities. It’s just like California’s AB1266. AB1266 doesn’t even address bullying or teasing per se because California already has mechanisms in place to address this issue. It deals specifically with access to sex segregated “facilities” based on “gender identity” which they don’t have a precise definition for other than how a student self-identifies. AB1266 and other “gender identity” laws are very disengenuous because they phrase it as “discrimination” and bullying when they really mean access to sex segregated facilities.

Since they are on the subject of bullying, female students who feel uncomfortable having to share a restroom or a locker room with a male are ignored, silenced, and shamed into submission. No one listens to them or their parents. I’ve seen transgender activists go overboard on berating and insulting parents for just speaking their minds. Allow girls and women and parents to speak without resorting to bullying and intimidation tactics. STOP the bullying of girls, women, and parents.

It really is sickening. If parents complain about their daughter having to share a restroom or locker room with a boy, they are called insensitive “transphobes”. This has to stop because it’s just making people more angry.

Parents should take their kids out of public schools. I hate to see the money for public schools dry out, but this insanity needs to stop. Years ago, I worked as a teacher’s aide in elementaly and junior high. In most schools, teachers don’t know what is going on in the back of the class much less what is going on in the restrooms. Teenage boys can and do try anything. Now, boys and girls can share the same restroom and locker room. It’s a disater waiting to happen, and I hope the school districts are sued big time.

Penis in the women’s restroom IS NOT A CIVIL RIGHT. It’s violating the privacy rights of women. I don’t give a rat’s **s how he “identifies”. Whether they admit it or not, states don’t even have a precise definition of “gender identity”, and most studies show that many children outgrow “gender dysphoria”. They can’t predict with precision how teenagers will feel when they are 21, or 30.
