My 2024 is a fake grassroots campaign of the Arcus Foundation, an initiative of Billionaire Jon Lloyd Stryker, a gay man active in Democratic and GLBT politics, and the Institute for the Future, a nonprofit spin-off from the RAND Corporation, another nonprofit formed to offer research and analysis to the United States armed forces by Douglas Aircraft Company and financed by the U.S. government, among other parties.

From the My 2024 Facebook Page: “My2024 is an online game, a national conversation, and a giant party for 10 days in Oct 2014 for LGBTQ people across the U.S. to imagine our lives in 2024.”

This is an example of a fake grassroots, or astroturf, political iniative to push an agenda favored by monied elites. The astroturf movement is a classic form of propaganda.

  1. It’s all about transgender and gay men (men in general), and lesbians and women are only tolerated if they keep their mouths shut and do as they are told. Women shouldn’t support these organizations at all.

It is astroturf as in fake grassroots.

  2. I understand your point about astroturfing, but I do not see any nexus with transgenderism or gender identify beyond the rather weak sauce of the (variously rendered) acronyms GLBT and LGBTQ.
