Mary Daly

pillsMary Daly, a feminist theologian granted tenure at Boston College, long battled the college over her decision to hold women-only classes.  Daly correctly noted that the presence of men inhibits class discussion; the college countered her refusal violated college policy and Federal law. The college forced Daly to retire in 1999. Daly’s view of about men extended to transgender women, who are also men. She saw transsexual women, in particular, as embracing and reinforcing oppressive gender stereotypes that feminists seek to escape. She was a thesis adviser for Janice Raymond, whose 1979 book, The Transsexual Empire: The Making of the She-Male, correctly posited that transsexual women are male and act as agents of the patriarchy infiltrating women’s space. Daly died in 2010 at age 81.

    Is Be-ing,
    Action in motion expressing itSelf.

I would be an intransitive verb—
Action in motion, taking no objects,
    Sailing Subliminal Seas,
